On August 11, the National Functional Agricultural Science & Technology Innovation Alliance Was Established in Nanjing. It’s the first national alliance of functional agriculture established and supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China to deepen the reform of the science and technology system and promote the deep integration of industry, education and research after the concept of functional agriculture was put forward in 2008.

The leaders from the Department of Science, Technology and Education of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the General Office of the National Agricultural Science & Technology Innovation Alliance, Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Jiangsu Province, the Pukou District of Nanjing City, Nanjing National Modern Agricultural Industry Science & Technology Innovation Demonstration Park, and Over 500 experts from 119 units in functional agriculture and related fields throughout China, including Suzhou Research Institute of the Chinese University of Science and Technology and the Institute of Subtropical Agriculture of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, participated in the establishment conference.
